You can help people affected by disasters like floods, fires, tornadoes and hurricanes, as well as countless crises at home and around the world, by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. International Response Fund
You can help the victims of countless crises around the world each year, crises like the Myanmar Cyclone and China Earthquake, by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. If you wish to designate your donation to a specific disaster, please do so at the time of your donation by either contacting 1-800-HELP NOW or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish), or mailing your donation with the designation to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 or to your local American Red Cross chapter. Internet users can make a secure online contribution by visiting www.redcross.org.
Red Cross Motor Vehicle Donation Program I Learn More
Donate your used vehicle for us to sell at auction and support the life-saving work of Florida's West Coast Region of the American Red Cross. We accept most motorized vehicles, including boats, trailers, trucks, motorcycles and motor homes -- they don't even need to be in operating condition. If the vehicle qualifies for the program, we will pick it up, sell it at auction or to a local autoparts vendor and send you the acknowledgement needed for federal tax-deductions. Memorial or Tribute Gifts
A tribute gift is a wonderful way to honor someone who embodies the spirit of the American Red Cross. You are not only touching the life of the honoree, you are helping our community. Tribute gifts may be made in memory, honor, or celebration of a loved one, or to commemorate a special occasion. When a gift is made, the donor receives an acknowledgement for tax purposes and the honoree or the family of the honoree being memorialized receives a special notification in the mail. The amount of your gift will not be disclosed to the honoree.
Matching Gifts
Did you know that your company may double or even triple your donation to Florida's West Coast Region of the American Red Cross? Many companies support their employees’ philanthropic investments by matching charitable gifts. Check your company policy through your human resources department.
Electronic Funds Transfer
You can support the work of Florida's West Coast Region of the American Red Cross through monthly or annual automatic contributions. After completing an authorization form and sending in a voided blank check, your contribution will be deducted automatically from your bank account. The contribution will appear on your bank statement and Red Cross will send you a yearly contribution acknowledgment letter.
Gifts of Stock
There are two common methods of gifting securities to the American Red Cross. The first is Electronic transfer through which your broker can transfer shares using the Red Cross DTC number. The other is physically mailing the paper certificates to your local chapter of Florida's West Coast Region of the American Red Cross. Either method is acceptable, but it is necessary for you to contact your broker to initiate the transfer. Gifts from Mutual Funds
There are two common methods of gifting securities to the American Red Cross. The first is Electronic delivery of mutual fund shares is the most secure and expedient delivery process available and provides efficient internal control as well as cost savings. The American Red Cross has accounts open at many of the large fund companies, which is necessary to initiate the transfer. However, we recommend that you contact us to confirm if an account number is available. It may be necessary for the American Red Cross to initiate an account to accept transfers of shares. Donating Frequent Flyer Miles
While millions of Americans accrue frequent flyer miles through reward programs, the number of people who actually use them is considerably smaller. Through the generosity of several major airlines, Florida's West Coast Region of the American Red Cross can receive donations of frequent flyer miles. Charitable mile agreements with these airlines enable individuals to donate their miles to the Red Cross. The miles, which facilitate the transport of volunteers and staff to critical areas, are used by the Red Cross to fulfill our promise to the public - to help provide relief to victims of disaster and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Contributions to the local chapters of Florida's West Coast Region of the American Red Cross, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Services Code, are deductible.
