Sept 10, 2001. December 25, 2004. August 28, 2005. January 11, 2010. When the world was calm, no one believed disaster would strike the next day. No one believed it could happen to New York, Indonesia, New Orleans, or Haiti. Would you believe me if I told you: Tomorrow, disaster will strike Tampa Bay?
93% of our community is not prepared for that tomorrow. Simple preparation may have saved lives during Katrina or the tsunami but many residents did not have the evacuation plans, tools, or preparation they needed. I don’t want that to happen to you. We can’t let that happen to Tampa Bay. Do you have 15 minutes to protect your friends and family today?
Please join me in supporting the “Bay Prepared” campaign. Let’s work together to inspire our community to get prepared for hurricane season and beyond. The challenge is simple:

Pledge to personally be prepared.

Pledge to help a friend, co-worker or family member be prepared.

Pledge to help our community be prepared with a $10 contribution to your American Red Cross.
The challenge is simple but the task is big and I need your help. Help me raise funds to prepare our community and awareness for what it takes to get prepared. Click the "Pledge to Prepare" button. Then look through the "Be Prepared" section and use these tools to prepare for tomorrow. Together we can get our Tampa Bay Prepared!

Make a Team!
A group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at Lomax Elementary are making a team to raise funds for the Bay Prepared Campaign. They will each have their own webpage and will send emails to friends and family with preparedness tips. They will ask their friends to pledge to support the Red Cross and prepare.
Would you like to build a team of friends, family, or coworkers who work together to raise funds and prepare? We have a very cool new program that makes a Personal Red Cross Fundraising Webpage for every volunteer, employee, donor, and Red Cross Friend.
If you would like to fundraise AND share great Red Cross info with your family & friends, you can make a webpage and Join the Team. It's really easy. We have sample emails, webpages, & preparedness tips all written up and ready for you. It only takes 10 minutes to make a team. It is even quicker to make your own webpage...and you can keep it up all year!
