Pasco County volunteers have responded to five fires in the last 24 hours. Fox 13 called wanting to interview one of our clients. I told them about how many fires we've had in Pasco and they wanted to interview Jim Simons as he was on the call that they wanted to profile. Jim also able to provide them with information on our multiple responses. As Jim was driving back from the interview he spotted a 67-year old man laying on the side of the road. Jim immediately pulled over and discovered that the man had a heart condition and other health issues. He called 911 and stayed with the elderly man until help arrived. Jim's training in first aid and CPR helped him assist this gentleman that was having problems with his heart.
I called the reporter at Fox 13 and let them know about Jim's heroic actions and how our volunteers are required to have First Aid & CPR just for cases like this.
